Who we are

MTDFox is operated by a company registered in England & Wales ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: hello@mtdfox.co.uk (replace with live address at launch).

What we collect

Your email address and password (stored as a salted hash); the financial records you enter or import (income, expenses, categories, descriptions); and basic technical logs (IP address, browser type) for security.

Why we process it (lawful basis)

To provide the record-keeping service you signed up for (contract); to secure the service and prevent abuse (legitimate interest); and, where you join the waitlist, to email you about the launch (consent — withdraw anytime).

Where it lives

Data is stored on servers in the UK/EEA. We do not sell your data, and we never share your financial records with third parties except processors strictly needed to run the service (hosting, email, payments), each under data-processing agreements.

How long we keep it

While your account is active. Delete your account in Settings and your records are permanently removed. HMRC expects taxpayers to retain their own records — export your CSV before deleting.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may access, correct, export or erase your data, and complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). The Settings page provides self-service export and deletion.
